Brno, Jun 26 (BD) – The Town Hall of Brno-Center announced earlier this afternoon: “The streets of Brno’s historical center will be sprinkled with water three times per day.” The sprinkling will take place today and tomorrow, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Specifically, these streets and squares are: Masarykova, Náměstí Svobody, Kobližná, Jánská, Orlí, Dominikánská, Josefská, Minoritská, Zámečnická, Zelný Trh, and Rašínova.
The streets will be watered in order to cool the asphalt, clean the streets, and freshen up the air. The attempt to cool the city’s streets will be extended for more days, depending on the weather.
Last year, the Town Hall of Brno-Center sprinkled the streets with water for the same reasons – however, this began in August. This year, it will be done sooner to ease the urban heat, which has arrived quicker in comparison to previous years.
