Michaela Bothová of South Moravian Emergency Services (ZZS JMK) has confirmed 5 serious injuries and 20 minor injuries. At the moment, the call center operators are calling local medical facilities in order to inform them that they will need to accept a higher number of injured people. The number will probably rise, according to Bothová.
UPDATES: 14:00 Brno Transport Company (DPMB) reports that lines 8, 10, 12, 31 and 33 do not pass through the site of the accident. All public transport vehicles that run to the city center must stop at Geislerova stop. From there, the passengers must walk.
15:29 The investigators are working with several versions of what caused the tram and trolleybus to crash. According to Czech TV, one of them is that the trolleybus was trying to avoid a woman with a stroller that was crossing at the red light.
15:56 HZS announces a special infoline number 950 649 999. The infoline has been set up for relatives of trolley and tram accident victims.
