Brno, Jan 27 (BD) – One of the best ways to keep your mood up during boring old January is to make sure you have lots to look forward to! That’s why we keep our fingers on the pulse to bring you news of all the fun and interesting events happening in Brno each week. Get a delicious taste of winter at the 8th Late Dinner, with a seasonal vegan cook-off! All manner of winter foods, prepared with less common ingredients of the wintertime in many unique and flavoursome combinations, will be served at Kabinet Múz on January 30th. Expect the unexpected with a special four-course menu prepared by the Die Kuche culinary team. Adios Tržnice by Pa Ti Pa Mi, at Tržnice Brno on Wednesday January 29th, is a hot tip for a midweek party, with DJs playing music from Salsa and Bachata to Kizomba and Zouk. The party has a black and white dress code, great food and drink, and a friendly atmosphere to keep you dancing into the night. If you love reading books not only for the words but also for the design and illustration, which can make a story really come alive, then you might be interested in the Most Beautiful Czech Books 2018 exhibition, which will showcase award-winning and nominated books from the 54th edition of the competition. More than 30 titles from 234 applications were awarded for their graphic design, printing, and illustrations. The exhibition is open from now until March 31st in the library of the Moravian Gallery. Join the other revellers at Fleda on Thursday January 30th for the biggest half-yearly party in Brno. The main stage will see sets from DJs Slepi and Andrew Melk, and the 80’s and 90’s stage will be hosted by DJ Mireczek until the early hours of the morning. Get there early to make sure you get tickets for the ultimate feel-good party. Tickets are CZK 100. Whether you want to improve your language skills or make friends and share cultural experiences, you’ll find what you’re looking for on Thursday January 30th at the Brno BlaBla Language Exchange. Just bring your enthusiasm, and the comfort of the language exchange will have you practicing with native speakers without worrying about making mistakes. What better way to relax and feel good than by dancing, whether in a nightclub or learning step by step at a dance class? So if you’re looking for a new hobby to relieve stress and anxiety, why not take a ballroom dancing class!? Come and join the fun at the weekly ballroom dancing lesson, every Friday at TŠ Starlet today from January 31st, where everyone can dance together under the guidance of the experienced and enthusiastic instructor Jiří Létal. This week you can fall under the spell of sweet bananas, taste the exotic flavour of pineapples and mangoes, indulge in juicy dragon fruits or buttery papayas, or even become a fan of the legendary durians at the Brno African Market! Taking place on Saturday February 1st at Tržnice Brno, the market will bring the best exquisite African and Asian fruits to the city. Second-hand items for sale, tasty food, a friendly atmosphere, and incredible music, all in one place? Sounds like a winning formula that can’t fail! At the Good Karma flea market, collectors can hunt for deals on second-hand treasure, while the sellers can pass on things they no longer need. And sometimes the roles are interchanged. The flea market will be at Tržnice Brno on the same day as the African market, meaning you can spend a super chilled Saturday checking out both markets under one roof! If you want to go to a market with all sorts of aquarium and terrarium animals, Fauna Hobby Brno is an event worth visiting! Held at the Brno Exhibition Centre, this is a weekend event for not only animal lovers but also breeders, where you can see a variety of exotic animals and plants, get expert advice, or shop for pet supplies.
