Brno, Nov 3 (BD) – Explore the new week with several festivals, and plenty of other events spanning culture, sport, career advice, health and shopping. Highlights include the Mexican Day of The Dead festival, Life! 2019, CodeBrew Hackathon 2019, a Meditation Course and the Green Beauty Market 2019. All this and more coming up in Brno this week!
For a chance to reminisce about the good times you had with your now departed loved ones, take a trip down memory lane at the traditional Mexican Day of The Dead festival (Día De Muertos – Mexický Dušicky), a special day to remember those who have passsed away, originating in Mexican culture. You might feel that you are part of an actual reunion of the living and the dead when families prepare offerings (foods, drinks, yellow marigold flowers) to honor their deceased relatives. The event will be complete with Mexican and Latin music, real Mexican tacos and tempting tequila cocktails. Are you interested in meditation and classical Indian music? Whether you are a beginner or a professional in meditation, you are all welcome to the Meditation Course, which will be in English. As always, this event is free to attend every Tuesday at Sahaja Yoga meditation center. Above all, you can practice true meditation to achieve a clear head and a higher state of awareness. Great news for those who never get bored of drinking beer, especially Czech beer: the Beer Meetings Hang Out in Brno is perfectly designed just for you. Whether you are an old or a new member, come along for a beer and chat with cool people on November 5th in namesti Svobody. How about Brno’s modern history? Do you know what Brno was like during World War II? By joining the World War II Tour with Brno Hang Out, you will learn more about what happened in Brno between the Nazi occupation and the beginning of Communism. The tour will take place in English on November 6th, and the meeting point is the Church of Jan Amos Comenius. The event is free of charge, but if you feel like contributing in return for new knowledge and a great experience, there is a suggested donation of CZK 100. Ever had an adventure in a caravan before? If not, and before you indulge in a dream journey, visit the Caravaning Brno 2019 exhibition from November 7th-10th to seek divine inspiration. Wander around the exhibition and choose your favorite caravan, there will be many different new models of caravans, motorhomes and related accessories. What’s next? The Eco Music Fest Brno will help you escape the grey days of early winter in Brno. You will be stunned by the diverse program featuring informative lectures, workshops, and intriguing concerts from talented bands. The eco music festival is a charity event, and the graduation project of a student from the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts, with all proceeds devoted to environmental projects. So if you feel like participating in this meaningful event on November 8th, you can donate a small amount of money as your admission fee. Interested in sports and games? The Life! Festival 2019 on November 8th-10th could be right up your street. Sport enthusiasts can come and try both traditional and unconventional sports. Then gather your friends and head down to the Folk & Country Festival on November 9th, where you can party with all the most famous hits of country and folk music and a fun and rowdy atmosphere. The weekend arrives with a hint of the sweetness and tartness of fine wine, as the Open Wine Cellars Festival takes place in the region of Modré Hory on November 9th-10th. 34 top Moravian vintners cordially invite you to come and taste over 400 varieties of blended wine from their new fermentation. Alongside the wine tasting, there will be music, food and other fun things to do, with the backdrop of the beautiful landscape of the area, on the outskirts of Brno.
