Brno, Feb 5 (BD) – The first accident took place early Monday morning near Famerovo namesti in Brno-Cernovice, when a pedestrian was struck by a bus. The 32-year-old man was severely injured, and police investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses who can help them with their inquiry, particularly a man with a backpack (title photo), who, according to onboard camera footage, was well placed to observe what happened.
In another accident the same morning, a 78-year-old man was critically injured in a collision with a bus in Letovice, and had to be transported to hospital by helicopter. Then later, a 44-year-old man was hospitalized after being hit by a car on Jihlavská.
Police spokesman Bohumil Malášek issued a warning to both pedestrians and drivers: “In this context, we again urge pedestrians to be cautious before stepping into the road. In addition, we advise pedestrians to use reflective clothing and accessories, even if this is not required by law. At the same time, we ask all drivers to devote their attention fully to driving, comply with all legal rules, and anticipate potentially dangerous situations. Special attention should be paid to pedestrians in order to minimize the risk of an accident.”
