The Tourist Information Centre has prepared 19 guided tours to celebrate International Tour Guide Day on February 22nd and 23rd, including one in English and one in German. Brno, Feb 5 (BD) – The penultimate weekend in February will be devoted to the 17th International Tour Guide Day. Over Saturday and Sunday, visitors will have the chance to experience Brno with licensed tour guides for just CZK 30 per person. Places are limited, and some of the tours are already sold out.
“The tours in English and German are focused on the main sights in Brno. The demand is not high enough to organise any special visits around the city,” said Jan Gerych of the Tourist Information Centre. “We used to have a tour in Russian too, but the interest was too low, so we decided to only keep English and German.” Throughout the year, the centre organises tours in 11 other languages, with the lowest price of CZK 1050 for four people.
17 of the tours are in Czech, and focus on topics including the legends of the city, villas in Žabovřesky, and murders that happened in the city. Both the English and German tours will focus on the city centre, its historical monuments and interesting places. The German tour will be held on Saturday 23rd at 10am, and the English tour on Sunday 23rd at 10am. The meeting point for both is the Old Town Hall at Radnická 8. You can get your tickets at the Tourist Information Centre on Panenská 1, Radnická 8 or online.
