At the annual Strategic Forum in Bled, Slovenia, the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) said the Visegrad Four states (V4 – Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) handling the coronavirus crisis well, including repeating his controversial statement from a year ago that the Czech Republic was “best in covid”. Photo Credit: Vlada.cz / for illustrative purposes.

Czech Rep., Sep 1 (BD) – Babiš said his “Best in Covid” comment last August was taken out of context and misused by some journalists and the opposition. “I was watching a video last year where journalists and the opposition scoff at me for saying we were the best in covid. I said V4. It’s the anniversary and V4 is the best in covid again,” he said.

A total of 30,404 people have died from Covid-19 in the Czech Republic until now.
