Brno, Jul 28 (BD) – One of the biggest events that Brno has to offer is back: MotoGP will keep you busy during the weekend. But what if you are looking for some quiet? Well, you can have some fine wine tasting in a small South Moravian town, or some good ol’ paella and a beer festival… And why not, a guitar music festival. This and more, this week in Brno!

After being postponed due to technical reasons, the Màla America Food Festival is finally in town this week. On Thursday you can finally taste the best food Mexico and Spain can offer. The entrance is free, you can find more information on the Facebook event.

As an affectionate What’s Up Brno reader, you probably felt a lack of festivals last week. You will be happy to discover that on July 31, there will be a beer festival at Náměstí Svobody. Until August 3, it is open daily from 11 AM until 8 PM. Find out more on the Facebook event.

After the guitar music festival in Mikulov, you can appreciate guitar music in Brno from August 4 to August 9 at the New Town Hall. Concerts will take place everyday at 8 PM. Find out more on the official website.

Do you want to feel the magic in the air and experience how Europe used to be – maybe without being afraid of catching the plague? The Veveří Castle is hosting the Lughnasad festival next Saturday: you can visit traditional craft shops such blacksmiths, coiners, potters, jewelers, furriers, tailors, herbalists, soakers and more. The event is free to attend and starts at 9 AM. You can find more information on the Facebook event or on the official website (in Czech).

You are maybe thinking that all festivals look the same, but you are underestimating the South-Moravian creativity! The Cucumber Festival will take place in Znojmo. From 10 AM to 8:30 PM, several activities for children and for adults, cucumber competitions and a farmers’ market await you! The program is available here (only in Czech).

The day where the world cameras focus on Brno has arrived: one of the most famous events in Brno, MotoGP, is here. The three-day competition will start on August 2 at the Brno Circuit. It’s not too late to buy your tickets online

If you don’t mind traveling a bit further than usual, you can enjoy Jarolavices’ Open Cellar this Saturday. Only 60 kilometers south of Brno, from 12 PM you can finally get a firsthand taste of South Moravian wine! You can find more information on the website of the city (in Czech).

Why go abroad to see the sea, if you can swim or paddle in Czech lakes? Still not convinced? What about singing and dancing in the same moment? It’s possible during Přehrady Fest in Vranov! Have a beautiful weekend spending your Friday and your Saturday afternoons at the festival. Czech bands of different genres will perform there. Buy your tickets online and find more information here (only in Czech).
