MEN’S BASKETBALL: Basket Brno Continue Preseason, Join ENBL

Coach Lubomír Růžička has a lot of player options with which to work and this pre-season is offering a lot of opportunities to watch the chemistry in action. Last weekend, Basket Brno hosted the Brno Open Cup at Hala Vodova. They won the first game, 82-59, against UBSC Graz (Austria) by mixing tall lineups with more versatile lineups. Brno lost, 77-88, to Swans Gmunden (Austria) in the second game.

“I expect quality in the ENBL,” Růžička said. “Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are basketball countries. In Lithuania, basketball is a religion. We will also face the champion of Belarus. Anwil Wloclawek from Poland has regularly played in the EuroCup. We want to be competitive. My private wish is to make it to the Final Four. “
