Brno, Sep 9 (BD) – Last year, a Brno man became an online hit after driving onto the grass lane at Nove Sady to avoid queues, only to end up getting stuck across the newly-rebuilt tram tracks. The driver managed to get out only after several attempts, then quickly left the scene. The police immediately tracked down the owner of the car. “He is responsible for more than CZK 50,000 of damage caused to the grass carpet and the underfloor irrigation system,” said Petr Vala from the South Moravian Police. According to Brnensky Denik, a court has now fined him CZK 49,500 and imposed a one year driving ban. Brno Daily wrote about the incident last year: “Video: Off-road Driver Damages Newly-laid Grass on Nove Sady”.
