Brno city councillors have selected Geosan Group as the contractor to build a new car park in Nový Lískovec, in the location of the existing parking area between Svážná and Oblá. The spaces will be reserved primarily for residents.
“The parking garage between Svážná and Oblá streets will be built thanks to the Mobility Fund,” said the Brno city councillor for transport, Petr Kratochvíl. “The funds obtained from parking permits help us develop and improve the transport infrastructure in Brno.”
The new car park will have 294 parking spaces, eight of which will be reserved for people with disabilities. Several spaces will also have a charger for electric cars. The project will also involve renewal of the traffic signs in the area and improved visibility on roads and intersections for both drivers and pedestrians.

The construction will use the space of the current parking lot and the sloping terrain on the site, spread over four floors. The contractor will also prepare all the necessary documentation for the construction and implementation, as well as the geodetic survey and the OHS plan.
“The winner of the public contract was the Geosan Group, which offered a price of CZK 126,012,252 excluding VAT,” added the Deputy Mayor of Brno for Investments, René Černý. “After all administrative steps, the overall preparation of the project will begin, followed by the construction work. This should start this autumn and last one year.”
There were eight applicants for the contractor’s tender, and the winning company will build the car park CZK 37 million cheaper than the estimated value of the contract.
