Brno, Apr 23 (BD) – “We are happy to welcome anyone, regardless of age or profession. Just share your good idea and join the festival with your business, café or organization,” the official website of the City of Brno reads.
The Re:publika 1918-2018 project, a nationwide celebration of 100 years of Czechoslovak independence, issues a challenge to the creative personalities of entrepreneurs, clubs, associations, groups, and individuals.
“The organizing team of the festival will welcome anyone who comes up with an idea on how to enrich and complement the programme and offerings of the festival,” the official website explains.
The City of Brno will provide support to “creative and original ideas that bring an element that is missing in our current programme,” the official application for participants reads.
It can be in any field: gastronomy, humor, street art, products, events – anything that will enrich the experience of visitors. The contribution must be visibly linked to the 100-year anniversary theme, the city specifies as one of the conditions.
The application form can be accessed here. The deadline is Friday, April 27 at 12 o’clock. The maximum number of projects that will receive support is 30.
“We want to use Re:publika to create an interactive space where everyone can meet, discuss, relax, learn, and enjoy. We hope Brno residents will enjoy the event, experience it, and make it their own.” said Petr Vokřál, Mayor of the City of Brno, according to the website Go to Brno.
“On May 26, 1928, President Masaryk opened an exhibition at the Brno Exhibition Centre to celebrate a decade of independence,” the festival organisers explained in the official press release.
The South Moravian Region has won first place in the prestigious TTG Travel Awards thanks to the festival organisation.
Re:publika begins at the Brno Exhibition Center on May 26 and will last for three weeks.
